Food Pantry (with Online Ordering)

The Food Brigade maintains a food pantry in Dumont, New Jersey and operates a "choice pantry" web storefront, which provides clients with the ability to order refrigerated, frozen, and non-perishable foods items online. Appointments are required for order pickup, except in emergency situations - if you are experiencing a food emergency, please call 201-614-4414. Home delivery service may be available for households that lack the ability to travel to our distribution site.

Weekly Bulk Produce Program

Every week, in addition to the orders placed in our online pantry, The Food Brigade distributes bags of mixed produce. In addition to our direct clients, our recipients include local food pantries, women & children's shelters, homeless shelters, churches, and other food-relief charities.

Meal Preparation & Distribution Program

The Food Brigade provides home-cooked meals to homeless shelters and to families in need due to disaster (loss of employment, catastrophic illness or injury, etc.).

Weekly Restaurant Dinner Meal Program (returning August 2022)

Beginning in or around August 2022, The Food Brigade will be reinstituting a limited-run distribution of packaged restaurant meals (details to follow).

Diaper Distribution Program (Infant and Adult)

The Food Brigade operates a program for the distribution of diapers (both infant and adult) and diaper wipes, including access to infant diapers from the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (a member of the National Diaper Bank Network).

Supermarket Gift Card Program

The Food Brigade periodically distributes supermarket gift cards for use at local ShopRite and ACME stores.

Thanksgiving Turkey Drive

Annually, The Food Brigade obtains and distributes turkeys at Thanksgiving time.
